Nourishing Hope: Over 100,000 Meals Served to Displaced Communities

With the incredible support of EBCO (BITAR), Souk El Balad has distributed over 100,000 meals to displaced individuals in Beirut’s public schools over the past 40 days. From breakfast to lunch and snack, each meal is a step toward hope, care, and community.

The Solidarity Drive is a heartfelt initiative led by Souk El Balad, supported by EBCO (BITAR). Over 40 days, this effort has delivered more than 100,000 nourishing meals to displaced individuals taking refuge in Beirut’s public schools during the war. These meals were prepared daily in our community kitchen.

Beyond food, we provided essential supplies, including pillows, blankets, and mattresses, as well as cleaning products and personal hygiene items. We also ensured access to electricity and water for more than five schools.

This campaign isn’t just about meeting basic needs, it’s about restoring hope. Each meal served is more than just breakfast, lunch, and a snack; it’s a message of solidarity, care, and shared humanity.

At its core, the Solidarity Drive is about healing and rebuilding, ensuring that no one feels forgotten. Every gesture, no matter how small, contributes to a greater tapestry of hope and togetherness.
